Harry Potter : The End of An Era!

So this is it! It is officially the end of a wonderful era full of childhood, memories, and magic. Yes, that's right, Harry Potter. I was first introduced to the books by my younger brother when I was in Jr. High and have devoured them (multiple times) ever since.

I love the vivid imagery in the novels, the way J.K. Rowling creates her wonderful world of wizards and witches, and how it transports me to a place different than I could have ever conceived on my own. I have to thank Harry Potter for extending my childhood well into my adult years.

To celebrate, Andre and I are attending the midnight showing with his friend Jake and his younger brother Eli (who's 11...and perhaps secretly hoping he'll get a letter to Hogwarts this year. If I was 11, I most certainly would be hoping in the bottom of my heart!). I found this awesome Harry Potter treat (pictured below) that I made and will sneak into the theater for us tonight (yay for giant purses)

Inside these adorable Quidditch broomsticks is an assortment of M&Ms, Sour Patch Kids, and jelly beans (couldn't find any Bertie Botts every flavor beans but these will do just fine). I also made cauldron cakes, which are like mini spice cakes and hopefully we'll be able to smuggle some Butterbeer...ahem...cream soda. Like I said, I have a big purse!
To everyone seeing the 8th Harry Potter movie tonight, enjoy!

P.S. We went to the midnight showing and just loved it! Farewell to the end of an amazing era.

  1. Agreed, it is sad to see it end. But having kids means you get to re-live it all again! I can't wait to read it with them one day.
